W123 Spec check

HI all,
I'm new here and i'm in the process of checking out a w123 280CE Coupe,with a view to purchasing it.It is a 1982 model,but what bothers me is that the dash is fitted with the old large time clock,with no rev-counter!
I thought only poverty spec cars had this--but this car is loaded.

IS THIS NORMAL OR HAS IT GOT DODGY CLOCKS.

i think the rev counter was an extra. We had the clock swapped for a tacho on a 1980 250 when it was new.

I believe that the rev counter was added as standard later on - I've had 2 280CEs - a 1985 model with and a 1979 without. I suspect one could be retro-fitted if you're bothered
