Folks,

Current shocks and springs seems very tired, so am looking at the Spax
Springs, and shocks.

However the Spax Website only list the shocks for models up to the 230, with no mention of the 240D.

So question is....Are the shocks for the W123's (Non self levelling) the same throughtout the range?

I think that you will find that the shocks are the same throughout the range

You could look through some of the 123's in this site

With most Mercedes there are numerous springs and shocks fitted depending upon the actual model within the range and the options fitted. Any aftermarket spring/shock is going to be a compromise. With your VIN No. the Mercedes parts department should be able to provide you with the correct ones for your car.

There are 2 types only for the 123 part number 1233200130 is for the 230 -240D -280 so this will be the one that you need

Just to make this a bit clearer, there are only 2 cars that use the smaller one ending in 030, Owing to the age of the car and the rationalising of the spare parts it would be normal to provide the heavier 130 shocker, so you were OK with that

It's this sort of latteral thinking approach that you take that always impresses me!
