Dear all,

I need a new voltage regulator for my W123. It has the usual Bosch alternator.

I'm considering a BERU voltage regulator but they come in differing voltages - which is correct for my car?

230TE 1983 auto

MB part number is A 002 154 42 06

With thanks and greetings from Berlin.

I think that is because of ambient temperature, a property of Lead Acid batteries is that the fully charged voltage depends inversely on temperature. Here is a technical explanation

"The charge temperature coefficient of a lead acid cell is –3mV/°C. Establishing 25°C as the midpoint, the charge voltage should be reduced by 3mV per cell for every degree above 25°C and increased by 3mV per cell for every degree below 25°C"

If you live in a hot country go for 14.1V if you live in a cold country go for 14.5V

If you have a Lithium Car Battery instead of Lead Acid, well I don't know about that one.
