W124 1992 300 Diesel electric problems

Hi, I'm having problems with my 1992 W124 300 diesel,

the electric windows and the windscreen wipers have simultaneously failed.

I have checked all fuses and even spent £100 on a new relay from my local dealer which has had no effect !!

any suggestions anyone?

Hi Steven.
I,ve had same problem with my 300te ...take the offending fuses out and clean brass/copper connector posts with a bit of fine emery paper,replace with new fuses.
I had all kinds of electrical problems..so i took all the fuses out -cleaned the posts up and replaced all the fuses...cost me £1-85 and no problems since.

better fuses

you can buy fuses with copper ends which dont react with the copper clips (why didn't merc think of it)and these eradicate this kind of problem. They are available in the USA manufactured by a third party. They supply a complete W124 kit with spares and it costs $10 dollars and will ship to UK for a couple of dollars more.. once source is www.Mercedesparts.com they are v good.

turns out I was sold a faulty relay!!! all better now, thanks for the advice though, will certainly check out that site!
