How on earth do you get to the aerial to remove or check the connections on it? The aerial does not extend when you switch on the head unit....

Morning everyone.

Well, it seems the mast on my aerial needs repairing. I coaxed it up to 3 sections out, and it now retracts and extends a bit under its own power, but the sections are mullered where it has been grabbed with pliers by the PO..

An odd "feature" of the head unit is that it would only play a CD for a few seconds before issuing a loud BEEP, that then got louder and louder until you powered the head unit off. This was caused by the aerial not being extended, as now the CD player and radio work just fine. Result. All I need is a new mast. Are they easy to fit? Are the fleabayones worth buying or should I use a GSF or ECP one?
