hi everyone,

i have a '91 230ce, had it for about 5 years, so far so good...

for the past week its been giving me problems with the central locking and the windows. when i try to lock/unlock the car, as soon as the key turns, the windows roll down an inch then stop. once down they will not go up unless i turn ignition on and off. same again when the windows are opened from the inside they wont go up unless ignition is on and off.!

central lock is working but whats with the windows?

can some one please help, advice is much appreciated.

Any signs of an aftermarket alarm system?
Failing that it could be a fault on the comfort circuit.

thank you both for the prompt reply.
I'm in the south-west.

there is an alarm 'autowatch' but the ****** thing has never worked properly, kept going off after 5-15 minutes, but it has controlled the central locking fine.

i have checked the circuit and there are no signs of moisture.

also i have recently jump started a few times. would this be a cause for the problem ?

thanks again..

Jump starting is never goof for any car, due the the excessive voltage, I will take a look but if all the windows do it it could be the extra relay that is fitted when you have the comfort module

Its bounced back again and that will be because you mail box cant handle the file.

I will try and cut it in half, and send it that way

No where that I know of,,,did you get the diagram,, there is one relay added to the front fuse box that controls this comfort package

i have received the file but its a blank page.

also i've looked behind the fusebox, where there is a small white box, a long black box and a smaller black box.

replaced the small white, didnt work.
replaced the long black box, didnt work.
and will try the smaller black box later on..

thank you

I will try and do the same with the additional relay up front

Looking at the diagram K24 could be the culprit
