Hello all me again,
my motor's been dead since last Friday, it broke down at the top of a muti-storey car park and had to come home via AA pick up.
I'ts got a spark and fuel to the inlet side of the distribution unit, (Jetronic system). The pump's fine and have changed the bosch valve on the inlet side (I think it's called an electro hyd presssure actuator) all to no avail. To cut a long story short I've now ordered a 2nd hand distribution unit plus air flow meter, valves etc from a MB breaker and await my garage's call on the results.
Following a frustrating few days and lots of negative thoughts whilst I await feedback, not to mention a pretty penny spent. It occurs to me that I should post this plea

'What else could it be?'

Just because there is spark doesnt rule out the plugs

I had a problem with my 230e. I wouldnt start, although it would crank it wouldnt fire. i had fuel and spark. I replaced the spark plugs and it was fine... Always check the obvious first

cheers
