Hi all

Got my 6 new plugs and removed cover which revealed 6 plugs, 3 of which have a square block above them with two electrical connections on them. The squares seem to be screwed down but when I took a screwdriver to the little brass grub screws (bottom right) that secure them the screw heads broke ! presumably they had become brittle with the heat.

Wondered if anyone had encountered this when undertaking what is normally a straightforward task.

Did I go about this the right way ? and what is the solution from this point

Grateful

You just pull off the big square things. It looks like the screws on the corners do something, but they don't stop you pulling the coils off.

It takes quite a pull to get the coils off, but it's a straight up pull.

Thanks again Turnipsock!

Your picture was indeed helpful. Bit concerned that pulling off coil will damage thread where screw held down and I will not be able to get the coil to sit securely thereafter. Might try and drill out the dmaged screws anti clockwise so that I might find an odd grub screw to do the job going forward.
