W124 Air Con Fault

Help I'm told my air con has packed up because the unit behind the three air con buttons is faluty and needs replacing. The car is an E320 1994. The air con guy reckons £400 quid for the unit!!! Help..

The number 7 fuse kept blowing. I took it to an electrical specialist who gave up! Then the next one said there was no gas. It was re gassed and no leakes so how come no gas in the first place? Anyway, with gas in he's diagnosed that the unit behind the buttons is at falut and is causing a short. But its seems an obscene amount of dosh for whatever this box of trix is. Where can I get one ? a breakers? an online dealer. Any advice much appreciated.

You can get the bit from Mercman but I doubt you'll be able to fit & test it successfully without specialist knowledge. Why not source the unit and get your aircon guy to fit it?

Thats what i want to do. I just need to source the unit at a reasonable price. Thanks for the tip. I'll google them online and give them a go.. if anyone else has a lead I'd be very grateful.
