I have run my 1991 W124 300TE petrol estate for about 18 months.
I ****** love it!
But a new problem arose today I have never seen before.
When in drive the tickover drops to below 500rpm and take off is hesitant and sometimes stalls.
Also kickdown induces very slugish running seemingly on 3 or 4 cylinders only!!
Checked transmission fluid level and it seems fine.
Is it just a matter of adjusting tickover or do I have clutch adjustments to do.
That doesnt answer the kickdown prob, so could it be advance vacuum pipe?
Any advise gratefully received.
Thanks.
Also any good MB specialists in the Derby area???

Your Mercedes
BMW 525 Diesel Touring
AFAIK that model has a rotary idle speed controller which needs cleaning or replacing

Adjusting the idle is possible - but why should you have to? It's idled OK for 17 years, but has now stopped doing so, suggesting it's a fault and not an adjustment problem
