My bonnet appears to be stuck. The cable release may have become detached. Does anyone know how I open it now. It appears to partyly work because when I pull the lever, it does not retract all the way until I lean on the bonnet and hear a click. However the bonnet does not budge. Help please!

With the car on a ramp or lift, it is possible to open from underneath. Sometimes with downward presure on the bonnet, while someone pulls the release lever they will open.

I tried the car on a ramp, but there was no way of reaching the lock as the a/c condensor and a turbo pipe were in the way. I, therefore, used a long blade screwdriver to poke through the grill and lever off the anti theft cover (easy) and then levered the bonnet catch open. The problem was caused by the outer cable retainer which had broken. Solution, a new cable is required.

Make sure you lubricate the new cable before you fit it, and keep it well lubricated.
