I think the early 320 estates had 4-pots. Certainly they had the biggest discs apart from the E500 / E36

Most German cars of the era used 4-pots on the hi-po cars but then changed to single sliding calipers to save money

In theory, yes. As ever the devil's in the detail - are the mounting points the same, the master cylinders the same, the brake proportioning valve the same?

There was never anything wrong with 124 brakes from the factory. Thay are considered to be excellent according to road tests at the time.

So, anyone having a deficiency in that area must have faults within their braking system.

Note thet over time the rear calipers tend to stick due to limited use.

and you must use original pads and discs from the dealer. Give your VIN to get the correct part.

The 4 pot front fixed calipers were for the extra weight and performance of the uprated later 320 cars.

Thanks, but I need to know specific models that came with them...

4-Pot brakes

Hello,

My 1991 300CE-24 has 2 cylinders on each front.

I think all the 300-24's did and then the 320s.

500Es and E500s also has 4 up front.

What about the AMGs - I'm certain the E36 had 4 but what about the earlier 3.2/3.4 AMGs? I would imagine they'd have had 4 too.

Just my 2 cents' worth.
