I have been considering fitting after market parking sensors to the rear of a W124 estate. I would go for a relatively simple system with a warning sound indicator rather than any dashboard lights. Most of the systems utilise a connection into the reversing light circuit. Can someone please advise whether such a connection will cause the failed bulb detection to be activated? Thanks for your help.

Why do you need parking sensors on an estate car as the back of the car is only just behind the read window?

Such a circuit would not upset any other system, so no worries there, I use one of those perspex viewers in the back window, only £4 and work very well.

Rear bulb fail detection only works on side & brake lights at rear, so should not get upset by connecting park sensors to reverse lamps.

NOt sure , but mine does detect the failure of reverse lights. Can someone confirm this?
