Is there not a switch on the centre console, like coupe & sedan.

My E320 cabriolet has a dash mounted switch. This is only over-ridden when they are up and you stow the hood in which case the hood controls lower them at the same time as the windows.

so they think the car has rolled over? i dont think they can be reset without doing some serious re-engineering, I think they are like seatbelt pretensioners, once they pop they should be replaced, but i`ll check my autodata cd for you when i find it

Maybe this is what Pascal is talking about, but I seem to recall that there is also a switch on the back of the centre console (desigend to be operated by rear passengers). Perhaps that will help.

I have seen a number of 124 cabs with their headrests up unnecessarily, so I guess it's a common problem - if in doubt, the system must be set to keep them up just to be safe.

press switch down for 5 seconds and and up for 30 seconds it should reset failing that disconnect the battery for 10 mins to lose memory
