Done a search for mist, demist, de-mist here + not found much.

The rear screen aint doing anything in the way of de-misting and it looks as though its beginning to "go" because its got that "developing a cataract" whiteness at the corners. I can do a relatively good job at clearing it with the blower motor and the centre vents, but certainly not ideal.

Could this be the cause of inoperative de-misting adn I need a new screen, or is there a common fault. The dash light comes on so I'm assuming the juice is getting past whatever relay is involved.

Not checked any of these yet, just wondering if anyone had any bright ideas?

Also, seats. I'm looking forward to having an argument with the MOT man about the seats and whether or not they lock upright. The minute he tells me they don't, I'm going to start the engine and tell him that they do.

Any thoughts on this? whats the official line?

Cheers

Check the electrical contact that meets the rear screen - it may just be dirty - failing that, check your windscreen insurance in case something nasty should befall it in the future.

Never had a problem at MOT time - most two door MB's do this so I guess they have just seen 'em before or dont bother checking.... oh and you need to start the engine with the door closed dont forget ;)

You got pillarless windows aint ya?

As for someone that failed... I'd show the MOT shop the owners manual showing how it came from the factory - dumbass professionals!
