Hello all. My dad asked me to have a look at his 1994 W124 E220 central locking which has stopped working. It seems that some mechanic butchered the wiring to the vacuum pump. I changed the inside motor thinking that it was faulty but later found out there is some issue with the wiring. The pump just does not work.

My question is, how do I trace and reconnect all the wires? Are the coloured wires supposed to be in pairs? The electric motor was just a direct swap. Is there a way to test the vacuum pump (and its electronics) on the bench before installing back to the car? Does anyone know what the different coloured wires are for? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
