My 1990 W124 coupe has developed a knocking sound from the offside front wheel. It doesn't start knocking until about 35mph and only does it in a straight line, as soon the the wheel is turned, it stops. Doesn't clunk on bumps or similar just a constant knock when driving. Any ideas? Thanks

You'll have to give us more information. Is the noise harsh, hollow, related to road speed, etc, etc?

No its not harsh, doesn't seem to be related to road speed once it starts at about 35mph, not metallic sounding, I expect its related to the shocks or some sort of bush, just wondered whether there was a well known cause. Will get it checked out soon.

As it's a 1990 car I'd look at the front ARB bushes, the front springs, balljoints, top mounts, calipers, pads and the steering damper

Did I leave anything out?
