Hi, my W124 E300-24 needs a new crank shaft sensor TDC (Top Dead Centre). Does anyone know if its a big job to replace or how it's done. The car doesn't start so I can't take it to the garage.

Thanks

Thanks Television, I'm told there are 2 sensors. The TDC one is about £50 from MB is that the same one you quoted?

This is the TDC or crankshaft sensor, mounted to the right of the bell housing

I was told by the AA it was an ignition problem and the symtoms point to a crank sensor. Not a fuel relay and not OVPR, do you have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply, whats the dizzy cap and where is it located?. What's it's job? Basically car a month ago the car started stalling in low revs when hot. Then it would only start from cold. Now it doesn't start just ticks over. I changed the OVPR on Sat no luck and its not the fuel pump relay.

Normally with a faulty dizzy cap etc it will start and miss fire and blow back, and not be totally dead.

Going on what the guy says in post 11, i still think its a option to check the disributor cap and rotor arm for condition and oil contamination.

But what do i know!!!!

No problem at all.

Keep an eye on it, if it starts to missfire again it may be time to replace it.
