Has anyone had trouble with their cat converter and is failure at 100000 miles normal? Is there anything that can contribute to failure? I would appreciate any information that anyone might have.

I've been thinking about your comments especially about the misfiring. I've noticed that if I start the engine and run for about 30secs then stop it and restart it after a few hours it will misfire for 15 or 20secs. I know that raw petrol getting to the cat is detrimental. Have I a flooding problem after I stop the engine? Any more ideas?
