W124 e220 estate rear bumper replacement

i need to replace the rear bumper,just the infill part. Does the whole main bumper have to come off to do this or can it be accessed and removed with the rest of it on the car, thanks for any replys in advance.

Manual shows nuts and clips to retain the infill to your rear T bumper To drop ther bumper is easy and only thing you need is some one to suport it the other side of the bumper as you lift it away from the body . 4 bolts on the left you will need to remove spare wheel to get at them .And the same on the right then 4 on the back 2 to the left side 2 to the right side . Much like the saloon .I did mine last summer .Tou can see my bolts removed .Do you have a manual .?

You will need to google this - Model 124 Maintenance Manual Index ,,,,, most every one with w124 have this, its free .

It will be in there just give the body a little protection at the back of the bumper before to fix it back .This is not a hard job and theres no weight in the bumper itself .But do get a lift off some one to guide it off ther body .
