I have an 95 e280. The car is hard to start intermittantly but it is becoming more common. It doesn't seem to matter so much if the car is cold or hot or the weather. I have to press the throttle whilst turning the key to get it to fire up. It has also started to stall out whilst going round carparks at low speeds. Have replaced the fuel pump and ovp relay, fuel pressure regulator and filter. the on board diagnostics are giving the all clear. have just had the head gasket done at 96K and the garage seems to think the loom is ok. Really am scrathing my head about this one. Please help!!

At this miles the Lambda probe should really be replaced as a matter of course as they loose their effectiveness if never been done - £80 part.

Also, if records show the charcoal canister in the n/s wing has not been changed, then do so promptly as they get blocked. £45 part.

That item can also cause a collapsed and leaking petrol tank.
