I would like confirmation as to how to remove rear carpet from saloon, to make sure I don't damage anything. Mine is an airbag model so has slide cover "glove box" in central well below arm rest, should that need to come out.
Need to remove carpet as there is water under, only found this after I had bought the car. DOH! Think I have found the causes of the problem, though maybe some one can point me in the right direction with this as well.

Think water in rear cab may have been due to a hand sized hole in N/S/F inner wing liner (the one that fixes inside the wing round the wheel). On its removal found the rubber grommet missing behind it at passenger compartment side near N/S/F passenger footwell side, so looked like rain was coming straight off tyre when rotating, going through the hole in inner liner then through grommet behind it. Some one out there may know better as to the cause of water?
Car has been stood due to another fault, but under rear carpet is dryer than it was (have raised it off floor with spacers for now to assist). Once I know I am not going to damage anything, with advice from out there, I can get the carpet out and fully dry, once I can see no more water coming in. Again no sign of rust on metal floor of rear compartment so does not look to have been a long term problem?

There was water in boot, but no real rust and water was clean. Couple of sponge fulls, no more. Removed boot carpet and internal trims and used watering can on closed bodywork to find leak. Water coming in through rusted areas around both rear lights appears to be cause, have patched up and no more water entering.
Don't think this is related to water in cab rear.

Look forward to ideas and feedback.

Great site!!!!!!

No one out there want to just confirm that I am not going to damage anything?
No hints and advice?

Is there any seat belt tensioner issues, any sensors I am going to damage?

If there is no problem would just appreciate confiramtion as have not had Mercedes before.

Thanks
