I suspect I have a problem with my viscous fan coupling as it fails the "carrot test" and the running temperature of the engine, according to the temperature gauge, reaches 100 when sitting in traffic.
The Haynes manual suggests that this engine , OM606, requires a special tool to remove the viscous coupling from the waterpump.
Went to the local stealership who wouldn't order it for me or supply the part number! Since this stealership are part of a chain on the South Coast I phoned the other ones with the same response. They won't supply either the tool or the number.

Does anyone have the part number for this tool, could supply a drawing/dimensions of one so that I can fabricate it, or tell me where else to get one.

Don't know if there should be any difference in running temp. with a diesel Andy, but 100'C, especially in heavy traffic spells just efficiency to me, nothing abnormal. My 2ltr petrol can reach 110'C in choc-a-block traffic hold-ups and my fan works fine. Normal running, around a constant 85-90'C.
