Dear Friends,

I am looking for my first MB and my first choice will be a 94-95 W124 Estate. I have three specific queries that I would appreciate help with.

1) It would have to fit in my narrowish garage and I need to know its full width from mirror to mirror. Can anyone help? Also, do the mirrors fold inwards?

2) Does this MB come with a third full seat belt in the rear, or is this a lap belt only?

3) Are all these models seven seaters, or was this just an option?

Thanks a lot.

124 details

firstly these are absolutely fantastic cars so , I think the 95-96 Diesel is superb with the new M606 engine . not fast but plenty of torque and 33mpg. Superior to the petrol 4 cyls for sure but relatively pricey.

On the dimensions check mercedes-benz.com

The mirrors dont fold automatically but can be pushed back by hand

7 seats was an option not standard but can still be obtained either new or used from breakers if you can find one. but better to get on car.

Middle rear seat is only lap belt but 3rd row of seats does have 3 point belts if fitted.

good luck in the search

Thanks Keith. I couldn't find anything on the website, maybe I'll take a tape with me on my searches. Sounds like a small query but I'd hate to have a lovely car and nowhere safe to put it!

Thanks for your help lads - saved me some hassle. 1.9 m is just enough, even better if the mirrors do fold. The length isn't a problem - just means I've got to get rid of some junk - a small price to pay for a great car.

Just gotta find the right car now....

Most interested in you thoughts on a E280 1996 P, there is one on Ebay that looks in lovely condition 101k on the clock. What are the things that you should worry about at these miles - whats the big service on these. On the 107SL its the 112k service (about 2k in an MB dealer, less at my pal Steve Redfearn) what questions should I be asking re the service history.
Thanks in advance....
