w124 face lift boot lid

hello, I have a facelift 95 w124 it has the usual w124 problem of rusting front wings but also is suffering from a rusty boot lid. Have been told this is common on the facelift models. What i want to know is can I fit a original w124 boot lid to this car as Have been told they rarely have the same problem. I can get these easily as scrap but the facelift one I'll have to buy new and if it's going to rust I'd rather not bother.

Not too sure about the actual dimensions but I think the only difference between the lids is the area where the number plate fits. Sloped on the pre and flush on the post facelift.
The reason the post facelift cars rust in unusual areas is down to MB changing to waterbased paints. If you were to get a new one, make sure you get a good paint job and you should be OK.
