W124 Headlight glass

Hello all, hope someone can help me on this one...

I have just purchased replacement headlight glass for my 1991 W124 as the existing glass is split all the way through with water ingress of the swimming pool quatity! Is there any special procedure for removal/installation? When I had a go at removing the old one a few weeks ago it was really tight and it promptly spilt in a new place, giving me a nice piece of glass in my finger and blood all over my car and me...Is it a headlight out job?

Any help greatly appreciated as always ladies and gents

hi tarmacsurfer. yes you do need to remove the headlight to renew the glass
because you cant refit the glass retainer clips in situ.

Job Done

Headlight glass replaced...that was more difficult than I was expecting! And a lot more water than I was expecting too. Anyway done now.
