I would be grateful of some advice.
On the way home from work today I noticed that my Rev counter, oil pressure gauge, temp gauge, cruise control all stopped working.
The speedometer is working and there is a slight whirring noise coming from the area from the drivers side dash speaker. The whirring noise stops when you indicate left or right.

The 8A white fuse in the 3rd slot looks ok although haven't changed it yet as I didn't have a spare.

I would be grateful for ideas or if anyone has had similar problems . The car is going in for a service next week but I would like to have an idea what is wrong.

My tuppenceworth: Remove the six screws on the cover for the relay box at the top of the fuseblock, and simply remove and reinstall each relay in turn. In my limited experience of Mercs I've found they are very prone to poor terminal connections though they may look perfectly OK, and this may correct your problems. I was at mine only today and succeeded in correcting two problems on mine by just doing that. Same with the fuses. A spray with electrical contact cleaner is also in order. (Best stuff since WD40!)
A few minutes time and NO COST - must be worth a try.
Cheers, Tom.
