W124 lying up for a year

My 280E was lying up for a year and when I reconnected the battery the sunroof opened by itself (tilted up) and now will not come down again. You just hear the motor but nothing happens. It is also making the motor noise without trying to press the button either way. Incidentally the car started immediately and it has been sitting outside, now it has a nice shed to live in.

could be the convenience relay under the rear seat p-side

Looked there, I'm none the wiser, there seems to be several relays there!

it's one big unit with a few plugs & when opened will look like this this diagram might be some help http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Mercedes-Benz/1994/E320/SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS/4962.pdf....... i would open the relay & look for any sign of damage from damp ect
