W124 Non Working Indicators/Wipers

Can anyone help? 1994 W124 Saloon, with intermediate non working indicators and window wipers, I replaced the whole stalk assembly, but its still happening. can anyone help?

Your car has a combination relay, it is fitted in the fuse box. Remove the complete lid ( 6 screws ) and you will see a black module about the size of a fag packet. Put your ignition on, wipers on (pull the blade off the screen if poss) and indicators on. Wiggle the module and see if it changes wipers etc. If it does, it might be worth prising the module apart and re-soldering the round pins where they join the circuit board before forking out for a new one. Have you seen the relevant fuse that controls those items ???????????

Have you taken it out and looked at the condition of it ???????

Have you cleaned it up, and twisted, it when back into position ????????

What was the result ????????? - let us know.

its fixed...

as per responces below, it was the relay thing like a fag packet, that needed re-seating, so thanks for that. wish i had figured that out before changing the indicator stalk.

When you have a spare ½ hour it would pay you to get some non drying switch cleaner lubricant from maplins or the like and cean/ lubricate all of the relay/fuse contacts. Arcing causes heat,and heat destroys the tension on the contacts.
