W124 oil leak

Have engine oil leaking from my 1993 220TE. Just seeping, but has made a bit of a mess of my new monoblocked driveway. Put old carpet down now!Looked as if it was coming from the cylinderhead but on closer inspection may be from plug below centre of 4 way outlet exhaust manifold.

Anyone know what this plug is for? It looks as though it would take a 19mm spanner.

The plug you are refering to is access to the main oil gallery. These sometimes weep. Use extreme caution if you are going to change it. Sods to take out and harder to refit.

Thanks for the info Ian. I will maybe by a new plug or seal (?) from a dealer.
