I'm after advice.....My car which has served me well is on its last legs, it a saab and we have covered some miles! I like my comfort and have toyed with various alternatives but I would like some old quality. I really like the look of the w124 and diesel seems like a good compromise on economy. As I'm sure you are aware they are rare as rocking horse s*** (especially the estate) and hence was very lucky to come across a local one in autotrader, just advertised. First glance it was a bit ropey (not as advertised !!) but I went for a test drive just to get the most out of the experience. It was a diesel (FSH) estate M-plate, manual, but boy was it slow!!!!

I mean really slow....I think something must have been wrong with it....I kept looking down to see if my foot had slipped on the pedal. I was expected sedate but this was ridiculous. It seemed to be running very smooth so nothing obvious.

As a gauge what performance should I be looking for, 0-60mph?? I'm guessing it was 0-60 in 30seconds. Maybe I should have worked it harder. Advice would be much appreciated.
