W124 Permanent cold air through vents

Hi

Since purchase,my W124,no matter what setting on the rotary control,will only blow cold air through the air vents.

This includes with the air vent controls in the closed position!!

Otherwise,its happy to blow hot air anywhere I direct it.
I'm also not sure if the heat it blows on my feet should be quite as hot as it is!For example,I have it set to say 18 degrees only and after a couple of miles my trousers are hot to the touch!!:Oops:

Can anyone help??

Sounds like the vent controls have become disconnected. The centre vents only ever allow cold air through on the W124.

It has had an interior swap Mike.I can believe it.

I'll take off the trim and check it ooooot!

when the duo valve fails, it normally fails in the hot position, hence nil adjustment of temp.

I found the site showing how to overhaul the Duo Valve.

I'll strip down,lube and reassemble.Hopefully just a stuck valve or two!
