I've been thinking about getting my 124 changed to a different colour- does anyone know how much approx. a good respray would cost?

That is like asking how long a piece of string is! I can tell you a change of colour will be MUCH more expensive than a repaint in the original.
My best suggestion would be to shop around and obtain several estimates from Insurance Co. approved repairers.
