Can anyone advise how easy is it to remove the right rear window motor and regulator when the window is UP (and not working!) on a W124 (1989). It appaers you have to lower the window to remove the motor/regulator??Multimeter tests suggests power gets to the switch on the door panel, and electric cables seem good to motor, but I cannot get in to check live feed on motor itself. Motor was weakening and so I suspect failed motor rather than another problem.
Thanks
John

Maybe stuck brushes, try giving the motor a clout with a hammer with the switch on, might liven it up at least temporarily.

Thanks for replies. I have part number. I have tried tapping the motor but it fails to turn. My concern is can I get the glass down (with motor not working) to get the motor and regulator out?
Thanks

Hello,
If you want to check if it's the motor the best way is to remove door card once that is done then you will see a block connector which has two screws in which hold black wires on one side and green on the other. To check motor is getting the correct feed you should find that when you operate switch up one of the wires should be a live I.e has current to it and the other an earth. Then it reverses in the down position on switch the other wire becomes a live.
In regards to getting regulator out with window up you should be fine if you unbolt regulator from door then move it about until you can get your hand up to slider on bottom of window where there is a plastic clip pop the clip out and slide regulator off window.

Hope this helps a bit
