W124 tailgate moulding / handle fittment

Can anyone tell me how to fit the tailgate trim / handle moulding on a W124 TE ? It defies the usual methods and I have broken off a couple of fingers trying.
I hope the superglue hold now I have stuck them back on.

I had to change the one on mine because it was broken,

All you do is carefully prise off the chrome trim which is clipped in place, this reveals the cross head screws which secure the boothandle trim, undo these and bob's your uncle!

My trim has no chrome on it, I assume yours is the later model.

I had the same problem. The black plastic surround moulding would not clip back onto the carpeted back panel of the rear door. It is part 131 on the Russian site:

I tapped it into place with a rubber mallet, and then fitted the screw. It eventually just popped on.
