W124 transmission oil - DEXRON III?

Have found a nice chap to change the oil and filter on my W124 estate E200. He has recommended Dexron III. Just wanted to know if others have any opinions on this oil.

Better spec oil than merc filled it with at the time it was made!!!

Dextron II will do, every 36-40 k miles, don't neglect changing the filter and draining the torque converter.
