Someone's trying to sell me a W124 95 turbo diesel estate that's had a new cylinder head - as a replacement for my similar non turbo. Should I be tempted? Declared mileage 140k. Checking to see if it's FMBSH. Unlike mine it's got all the extras including sunroof and leather.

Also I thought all late w124's had a grill on the side of the front wing but this one doesn't. Any advice welcome

The Turbo makes a huge difference and the sun roof is nice to have.

I have had Alvis TD/E and F, I used to know Red Triangle well

Thanks for the reply. Should I be worried by the replacement head? And do you know about these wing grilles?
Nice to meet a fellow Alvis traveller! Have to say I used to have a '39 Speed 25 which really was the biz!

I think all the Multivalves had the grille in the wing. If it doesn't have it I'd suspect it's a 1992/3 car. French market cars are different to UK ones so I may be wrong

What's the engine number? If it's a multivalve it'll be a 606
