Hi,
Hope someone might be able to help me...

After I came back from holiday, the battery on my 500SEC (1990) was flat. I jumped the car, and now the ABS & ASR lights are on, and the car is over revving in Park & Neutral only (it's fine in gear.) Someone has suggested changing the fuse on the OVP relay. I'm not sure where it is on my car though. It's not in the fuse box like they thought (at least I don't think it is...)

I think I've found it at the very back of the engine between the wipers. It has a red pull out 10amp fuse on the top. I've had a look at the fuse but can't tell if it's broken or not (It has a red plastic top with two metal lugs sticking out of it?)

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated... if this could be the cause of the problem, and also if I have found the OVP??- I'm not even sure! Plus where do I get the replacement fuse from?

Many thanks,
Anu

thanks a lot malcolm...it is a lovely car - apart from the fact that it's now smoking so the valve stem seals need replacing...at london prices it means i'm probably going to have to sell it which is pretty upsetting!

anyway, i've pulled out the red fuse and i think it's blown (well, if you look in the red plastic, the metal inside is broken, so i'm assuming that's the case...as you can tell i'm not very technically minded!)

so does anyone know where i can buy this type of fuse? i did a quick search online and couldn't find anything...

I believe it is a standard blade type fuse from any garage, if not MB.

get a quote from an indie for the engine.
