My central locking has stopped working completely. No partial operation, no pump noise nothing! I have checked the fuse which is ok.

I fitted a new stereo yesterday too and wonder if the too could be linked as everything worked ok until I fitted the radio!! Could I have dis lodged something within the system??

Can anyone tell me where the pump is located and how to test it?

Any help appreciated,

I think the pump is in the boot near the spare wheel. I't encased in a form rubber casing. Follow a yellow tube into it.

I dont know how to test it.

BTW is your radio working normally?

they are probably linked. it took me a while to find a route for the multi changer cable, which meant pulling the seat out, boot liner etc. I also have had problems with the sunroof and was rummaging in the boot for the motor and recall the foam thing to the right side of the spare wheel. perhaps I have disconnected it, I sort of pulled it out then could n't get it back in, it was raining so I bodged it. That will teach me to mess with whats not already broken!!

Wiring the stereo was difficult. the car had a 80's pioneer unit which I have swapped for a late 90's spinning front kenwood with rds/cd etc. The stereo needed a perm live to operate the spinning front when the ignition is turned off. I struggled to find one and ended up adapting an old loom from the phone system. Some how managed to wire it into a cable that only provided power when the door was open!! I put it all back together, closed the door and it shut itself off! It was just one of those days!!

thanks for the help

Isn't the cigarette lighter feed permanent 12v? I wired my stereo recently, I didn't have much problems. Mind you, It was not a complicated setup.

All the wires for the stereo where already present in my car. 12v acc, gnd, 12v permanent amd speaker wires. Odd that yours was more difficult.

Matt smith needed a live feed in the boot for his make of changer.

the cigarette lighter seemed the obvious live as the one in my old 280se was perm live, the new one is n't. I have no idea what the live wire that only worked when the door was open!!

just need to sort the central locking now!! The length of the car dictates of site storage!! So can't go and tinker!!

The radio install sounds a real pig, they can be tricky if you don't have wiring diagrams which is often the case.
