w126 warning lights not working

My gen 2 500 sec, the warning lights on the dash have stopped working, seems they have no power, the only warning lights that come on are the brake light, beam when activated and the battery light, the brake light is dim when the handbrake pedal is depressed but if i start the car the brake warning light does go out.

Any ideas why there is no power to the warning lights

Perhaps a loose plug behind or a broken track on the pcb. You say the car starts but is the battery fully charged…

On an 89 & 90 w124 diesels I have had no glow light and a few other lights out which were caused by alternator brushes being worn out, one brush making contact and the other hardly at all.
Sometimes jog engine over on the key and they would all come back.
Telltale for alternator brushes getting tired is the interior light will seem to flicker at idle.
May not be the cause of your problem but thought worth mentioning.

Thanks, the battery voltage is fine and charged
There must be a link as the oil level, coolant, brake and, fuel reserve are all out, BEAM, BATTERY light are fine and handbrake is dim when released and goes out when the car is started

dim lights are usually bad earth, loose connection. Find a wiring diagram for your car and see how the circuit is for the oil level, coolant, brake and, fuel reserve.

the dim handbrake light goes out as soon as the car is started, surely if it was a bad earth or loose connection the light would stay dim
