Hi,
I've seen a pair of "Retro Fit Flat Flexi Blades" (what an awful item name ;-) on ebay.co.uk from an ebay shop named uk_bulb_co.
I've bought quite a lot of spare parts on ebay before without problems,
but my question is if anyone on the forum has tried these blades on a W126? Thing is that the hooks on the wiper arms has a L/R mirrored notch at the end, and I haven't found non-orignal blades that fit (due to the notches). Std. RTP in DK for a pair of original wiper blades is equal to 55 quid , so I really would appreciate if someone on the forum could tell me whether these flat blades fit, or could tell me tell me where one can find wiper blades which doesn't cost a fortune.

Cheers,
Hans, DK

I have Bosch Icons on my cars, I think they're the kind, flat, you're referring to, a bit pricey. I've heard good things about the Michelin's (forgive my spelling!) and a lower price too.

How to fit flat wiper blades

Eventually bought and fitted the flat wiper blades, turned out they were too long and hit the window side frame (even though they were bought as make/model/year-specific...).
Pried the top end caps off: delicate, they got tiny little plastic lock hooks which easily breaks.
Cut off about an inch of the rubber, and then the tricky part: the inner of the blades are two long 'tongues' of feather steel which narrows at the end. I pulled the rubber blade a little away, cut tracks in about the angle as orginally in the steel blades with a small metal saw and used a cutter tong to snap the excess pieces off. Used a flat file (actually: the wife's nail file ;)) to expand the U-shape groove in the top end caps a little. Refitted the rubber blade and glued the top end caps on again, as there now was no groove for the lock hooks to grab. All in all a 40-minute job, the wipers are working excellent, even better and more quiet than the expensive Bosch original blades.
Hope this can be useful to others.
