Hi everyone
i have just bought a 1990 SL300 which seems to have a problem with the locking. Basically the central locking works perfectly from the passenger side (locks everything) however the key turns in the drivers side but nothing locks (not even the drivers door manually).
The remote doesn't seem to work so i have been using the key however the red/green lights on the door handles work when the car is locked/unlocked - does this mean the alarm/immobilisor works via the locking or does it need the remote (if it needs the remote will i have problems if the battery goes flat) ?

also does anyone know where i could get a handbook from?
many thanks

I have one of these cars too and the same year as well , I also have the hand book so if you need any info on any section of the book I will copy and post here or to your Mail address whichever you prefer. I've had my car for nearly 3 years now and really enjoy driving it and the only problem I've had is with the ASR and good ole Television came to the rescue. It had 48k miles genuine and only 1 owner when I bought it ,It now has 71k on it now and is all original
