Hi there
Can anyone tell me if the removal of the 1996 SL500 instrument panel in order to replace Main beam warning lamp & Mileometer illumination bulbs is similar to the description for other model panel removal given here?
Many thanks, Guy.

Guy,

Don't use the hooks that you can buy on ebay, any mistake with those will lead to a broken bezel and that is very expensive.

Remove the lower knee pad (carpet) and then push the panel from behind by putting your hand up and under so to speak. You may also need some plastic or wooden wedges to break the 'stiction' (is that a word?) between the panel and the surround.

Good luck,

Thanks for that info. Richard, I almost tried the hook method as described in the Hanes manual for the C class panel removal.
