Help.....it's getting hot
I have an ugly problem eith my Air-con/climate control system on my 1992 W140 300SE. I have recently replaced the Air-Con unit due to the other one giving up the ghost. Since I have had my new one put in (the old one was actually rebuilt) I have had on going problems where it will not stay on. I can drive for 15-20 minutes and then the air-con will not cut in any more. To get it to work again I have to turn the engine off and on (I guess it is reseting something)
To date my MB dealer has:
1. Replaced/tested the in car sensors that control the temp
2. Replaced/tested the gas pressure sensor for the air-con unit
3. Regassed the unit
4. Replaced/tested and new climate control system
5. Replaced the engine bay wiring harness which they were convinced was the problem due to what they said was heat soaked cables
The result of this is that the problem is still there. The next thing to be replaced is the speed sensor problem even though looking at the readings with a meter there doesn't seem to be a problem with it. Seems like we are grasping at straws and emptying my wallet !
Any ideas/clues would be gratefully accepted
Cheers from down under
