Any ideas on the location of this sensor?

I thought it would be near the coolant temp sensor.

Thanks!

External air temperature sensor or engine coolant temp sensor?
First is usually low down below the front bumper

Have a look for a pointed probe type sensor in the lower bumper area. That is the air temperature sensor.

Its on the right hand side lower bumper vent, metallic tube clipped in, can be seen from outside.

not the air temp sensor... the actual sensor that relay's the engine temp to the dashboard temperature gauge.

thanks

That’s the coolant temperature that is measured

yeah by a separate sensor that is specific to the engine temperature coolant 0055421017 / goes directly to the temp gauge on dash and measures the temp of the engine coolant

coolant temp sensor is part 0115425117 which i've already replaced

In terms of designing the best place for a coolant temp sensor, the two places are
1. close to the thermostat housing
2. close to the radiator plumbing.

my bad... I'm just used to conversing with seasoned enthusiasts.

Maybe should stick to the US forums where you get a straight answer first time.

You have a “interesting“ way of requesting help from members, calling them clowns and implying they’re not enthusiasts... please let me know how that works out for you...
