1995 w140 s500. It will go off some cyclinders if the car hasnt been driven for a week or so, so i replaced the plugs and it kept doing the same. So today i spent £146 on new distributor caps and rotor arms, as i had taken the old ones off and seen they were quite worn.
It hasnt helped!!!!!!!!!!!
it wasnt drivimg the best last time i had it out, and it even backfired a few times> im now thinking that the cat could be blocked as it wont rev out past 3000rpm. or maybe the coil pack??
All of the plug leads were put on in the right order. I dont want to spend a load more money on something that wont fix it.
I will try and get a computer on it towards the w,end, although no management lights nare on.

Any thoughts?????????

I think that you can forget the CAT, this is an High voltage problem and could well be the coil
