hi there all...

My mate has S320 W140. his car got broken into a few years back and the headunit got stolen. after that day it never started and has been parked up there ever since. They have tried starting it with a new battery but nothing...

What could it be? as car is just in the back garden going to waste.

The head unit is the radio.

That will have been linked to the alarm/imobiliser system, so I guess it has to do with that, apart from having a flat battery of course.

Try and reset the radio alarm switch to it's normal state (as if there is a radio in there) and see if it will then start.

Thank you Kieth very much, and yes it is part of the alarm on that car, I had the same set up on my 129 of about the same year and this part is shared with the 140

(I knew that I had heard of it but could not tie it in)
