Hello Forum.
In a bit of trouble. I have got my dads s280, sitting on the drive, undriveable.
Last Friday, after a trip from London, the car seemed to slip in gears, especially from 3rd to 4th, then as I got closer to home, it seemed to slip in all gears.
Now taking the transmission dipstick out, its all black, with a mettallic shine to it, and smells burnt.......Now I know there is a problem!
unfortunately we had the same issue 2 years ago, and the box was rebuilt by a auto specialist!...and its here again.
Teh question I have for the room, is that does anyone recommend a decent breakers yard, or a specialist that may have a re-con box, as I feel that this one is totally knackered.
I hope that someone is reading this and thinking ''Ah!...I know who has one.
The car is a 1996 S280 - W140, 5 Speed Auto. I am based around the midlands.
Any help would be appreciated....Oh yeh...Dad does not know yet!
