W163 Abs Problem

Hi all,

I've got a problem, maybe anyone can advise me.

The ABS light doesn't turn on with the key on the ignition before start the engine.

Is there an ABS pump malfunction? Or can be only the relay?

If the lamp never comes on, it could just be a simple lamp failure

Thanks, I cheked and I descovered that someone has turn off the lamp (the previous owner), and now is allways on, indicating an abs fault. Where I can start to look?

There are no ABS faults listed, are you sure that it is not the BAS lamp that is alight

The abs loom can rub through on the chassis rail at the rear on both sides. Very typical on ML's and easy to check by removing the wheel and tracing the loom back from the wheel speed sensor.
