Hi folks,
This is my first post, and I am the proud new owner of a facelifted ML270.
I love the car, and will probably be a regular on this forum once I have driven it a bit more.
My first issue is the passenger door mirror adjustment not working. The mirror folds OK, and the drivers side works, so I suspect the contacts on the adjuster itself. Can anyone point out how to access this? I was considering trying to prise off the glass, but don't want to break it. I had read another thread about accessing it from the inside on a different model.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks Malcolm.

From your diagram it looks like the connector should be reachable from the inside. You may well have saved me a broken glass. I will post the outcome.

BTW, I am assuming you have the equivalent of TIS or something similar. I must invest in a decent manual of some sort - any recommendations?

For the best part all of your car is here, there are two ML's shown where there is little info on one, after 2000 the other info is on the pre 2000,

For you I went to the doors, and you have all of the menus there.

Well, I removed the inside corner trim from the quarterlight to reveal a plastic connector block. It seemed perfectly clean and dry, and after a few wiggles I decided that this was not the problem. After this half-hearted attempt, I made the excuse of bad light and weather, then retreated to the comfort of indoors.
So I have not really engaged the problem head on, but after driving the car over the weekend (the better half uses it in the week), I also noticed that the accelerator cable is a bit sticky. I have searched the link kindly provided by Television, but cannot find any reference to the throttle cable - or a list of fuses.
Can anyone suggest a diagnosis of the electric mirror fault? Also, I was intending to pour some oil down the upper end of the throttle cable, but where do I find it?

Pls have a look at this thread for throttle cable issues on the ML270 -

I had to take a deep breath before trying to prise off that very expensive mirror glass. Fortunately, it came off without breaking, and I was then able to get at the guts of the mirror. To my delight the connector inside had come unplugged, and when I reconnected it the adjuster worked perfectly.
Thanks for the diagram Malcolm, but I should point out that the internals were completely different to the illustration - there was a connector on the motor itself as well as the multi connector in the door, and also a number of other components that were not shown. I guess there will be variations according to heated mirror options etc.
Anyway, it's comforting to know that I have escaped a potentially scary bill.

I do find the Mercedes handbook amazingly uninformative. It doesn't even mention where the fusebox is located. It didn't take me long to find it, but I would have thought that an explanation of where to find for example, the interior light fuse, might save someone a trip to the dealership - and a few quid!

I have just two more minor electrical niggles to remedy. One bulb not working behind the speedo fascia, and the driver's sunvisor light not working.
Can anyone advise me if these are simple fixes?

From memory your car was the face lift hence some slight differences, cant always get hold of that info. The main thing is that you have done it, without taking out a mortgage.
